Clark Howard Says…

For those of you who don’t know, “Clark Howard is a nationally syndicated radio and TV consumer expert who shows you how to save more, spend less and avoid getting ripped off.”

We at Bulldog Security agree with a great many of the things that Mr. Howard has to say on the subject of home security. Let’s take a closer look at some of his points.

Clark Howard says:

"Choose only a company that doesn't require a contract to monitor your alarm."

"If you feel you have to sign a contract, never sign one for more than one year."

“Make sure it doesn't have a ‘rollover’ clause that renews the contract automatically."

Good points. Here at Bulldog, you don’t have to sign a long-term contract; we have a month-to-month agreement that can be cancelled at any time, for any reason with 30 days’ notice.

Clark Howard says:

"Don’t pay more than $15 to $20 a month for monitoring."

Agreed, Bulldog Security provides monitoring service for as low as $15.95 per month.

Clark Howard says:

"Don't lease a burglar alarm system."

We like this one too. You will own everything that we install at your location. Bulldog does not lease systems.

Clark Howard says:

"Always get smoke and fire monitoring as part of the system."

Absolutely. Adding smoke detection to your system increases your overall protection and could even lower your insurance premiums. Bulldog Security doesn’t charge extra monthly fees to monitor for smoke detection.

Clark Howard says:

"If you want to make sure you get decent monitoring service, you should ask if they use a UL-approved monitoring service… you can rest assured that your home will be properly monitored."

Yes, UL is the benchmark for quality monitoring in the alarm industry. Our monitoring facility is UL listed, and it is right here in the Atlanta metro area, so yes, you can rest assured that your home will be properly monitored.

Don’t consider any company that won’t give a quote on the phone and instead wants to send you a salesperson… that’s a strategy they use to close a deal.”

We agree totally that the use of high-pressure sales tactics is unacceptable. We have been giving out phone estimates for years. We will even email you pricing and estimates at your request. We will, of course, send a representative out to give you an estimate if you decide you would like one. Bulldog Security does not employ high-pressure sales tactics. Your home security decisions should never be rushed by a high-pressure sales person.
